peruanista, zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

This is my first comment on peruanista’s envious-shallow-posture driven evaluation of the acclaimed art-house movie, ” la teta asustada” .

Obviously, peruanista is an exile in the US and out-of-touch with the everyday realities of Peru.
He is not able to appreciate work that exposes abuse of women in his former country of residence.

Any effort that exposes the horrors lived in Peru during the “sendero” years deserves to be congratulated.

Peru suffers of rampant human rights abuses including; incest, rape, segregation and racism, to name a few.

The time-span of Peruvian history shown in the “teta” film provides the world with a snap-shot of the complex social and political realities of this emerging South American country.

The timing of this honest-heart-wrenching film could not be better now that former Peruvian President, Alberto Fujimori is on trial for crimes against humanity.

Tip of the hat to Claudia Llosa and all her talented team for bringing this important story to light!!

Plot: “It is 1936. Léon Blum is in power, the Socialist Party is active, workers are striking and the weight of the Great Depression is beginning to be felt.
